Old Hickory House in Tucker

Drove from Brentwood TN to get 5 gallons of Brunswick Stew. 525 miles and 8 hours.Have been eating OHBBQ for 60 years.Worth the trip....now that's praise

I've been eating here since i was a kid. The smell is nostalgic of my childhood. The food is and always has been delicious. The service is always great and down home.

Biscuits are huge and tasted good. The Bacon is delicious and my eggs were cooked perfectly. My grits were yummy and the coffee was also really good. I don't care for their gravy though. They have some really good breakfast specials during the week too. Our server was excellent and friendly. This was my first time to eat breakfast there.

This was our first visit here. We will definitely be back! Comfortable atmosphere, flavorful food, and our waitress (I believe her name is Maria, short lady😊)was very nice, our drinks were never empty, and she answered all our questions of the menu.

Chopped pork platter was disgusting, it came out cold she stated she would get a fresh plate and I watched her go over and microwave my wife's plate. And it took her 5 min to return with the plate. And my ribs were very dry. I will add they had good flavor though.

First visit yesterday on Memorial’s Day. Had a rib plate and a half smoked chicken plate with baked beans, Mac and cheese, potato salad, and garlic bread. It was so good and the service wasn’t too bad either. I would definitely eat here again, especially for the baked beans and ribs.

I love the food here. I hve yet to be disappointed. I have been here lots and still have new things to try.

Have had the pork and beef bbq plates many times. Had the 8oz steak this time. Just as good. Service is always very nice. Flavor and smoke level is killer. Love this place.

This place holds history and the food is still as good as I remember!

The ribs were tough and the pork was dry. July 15 and the temp inside was hotter than outside. I have had worse BBQ, but it’s been a while.

Wow! Great service, and prices. The fried chicken, and coleslaw is amazing. Best french fries I’ve had. Even the coffee is good! I definitely recommend going if you’re in the area and have the chance.

Old Hickory House has been a Georgia favorite most of my life. My absolute favorite BBQ sauce and Brunswick Stew. We’re camping nearby, ordered takeout and brought it back to our campsite. This is the first time we’ve had their breakfast. We ordered the BBQ Pork Omelet with biscuits & gravy and grits. It was delicious! In addition, ordered a pound of shredded BBQ pork and a gallon of Brunswick Stew. Old Hickory House is still the best southern BBQ for me!

My family and I have been eating here all my life. The Old Hickory House is a treasure for those in Atlanta Metro who frequent the establishment. The employees feel like family and it's always good to see their faces. Great quality BBQ and breakfast, and even better prices.

simply the best place to eat as we pass through atlanta...never fails to hit the spot with ANY of their menu items at ANY time of day...

So, I am being generous with the two stars. I'm a pescatarian so a barbecue spot doesn't really have much for me to eat.All of the vegetables had meat in them, so I went with the catfish. I cannot blame them for the taste of the catfish as catfish is just nasty.The potato salad and Mac and cheese were also unpalatable.Best thing going were the sliced tomatoes. If you eat meat and enjoy barbecue this might be a good place to go.My waitress was superb.

Ribs were okay. Sides were better. Baked Beans were the best part. Mashed potatoes and gravy was good but they were out of rice and gravy. Brunswick soup was decent. Fried green tomatoes and sauce were good. Everything except the fried green tomatoes came out luke warm and the service up until the end was frustrating.

Barbeque is very good ... Could taste a smoky flavor to the pork. Decor is outdated but fits inline with an "old hickory house". Great service from Maria. Steady dinner crowd came in promptly around 5pm (Sunday). Will come back to see what their breakfast is all about.

Drove 700 miles one way specifically to eat at the last of these resteraunts. As it was featured in my favorite movie. Ordered the mixed barbeque plate and everything was completely dry. I understand smoking takes hours but it was like the food was left over from the night before that had been under aheat lamp or in a microwave. Sides were delicous though. Enjoyed getting a diablo sandwich. But honestly if it wasnt for the joy I got from visiting a place related to smokey and the bandit my rating would be lower. Especially when you could see and smell the fresh barbeque on the pit.

We stopped here on our way to finish our Christmas shopping. We were seated quickly and the staff was very friendly. The place isn’t much to look at, and the decor is dated, but we aren’t picky about looks. The clientele is a little older, but we met some super sweet people at the next table :). The food was good. I personally wasn’t the biggest fan of the Brunswick stew, my husband liked it. It had good flavor, but maybe not my favorite. The hickory chicken was delicious! The sweet potato soufflé was like a dessert. Overall, the staff friendliness and decent food will likely prompt us to try it again sometime.

Great place with delicious food. The portions are large , the prices fair and the service excellent. The staff is friednly and the atmosphere very pleasant.

Truly an enjoyable experience, My waitress Carenda was very polite and curious she's been with company for 37years. Best coleslaw I've had in while. The chopped chicken was good also, but the ribs and brisket wasn't to my likents but overall I give it 4 🌟

Best breakfast on the northeastern side of Atlanta. The biscuits are big and tasty. You can't beat the wait staff. I highly recommend anything "country fried".If you go for the short stack of pancakes, it's only 2 highly, but each one is the size of a dinner plate. If you like buttery grits, get 'em here.For lunch and dinner, the bbq is good. The Brunswick Stew steals the show.

How extraordinary to find this old gem open. Great chopped beef and baby back ribs. The squash casserole was delicious, too. Emma gave us great service. Their hours have been shortened & they do have tables and booths blocked off for social distancing. Their waitresses were all in good spirits, providing quick & friendly service. We will drive over soon for their down home breakfast!

Always solid food. Not a fan of the BBQ sauce but meats are excellent.Service is hit and miss but never bad.

It was our first time there it was actually really good. We both order baby back ribs with potato salad, mac and cheese,and okra. I don't even like okra but it was really good. Server was very sweet and our meal came in under 10 min. The restaurant itself is also great very vintage.

Been my favorite breakfast since I was a kid. And of course, MY FAVORITE BBQ! When a restaurant has been open this long, there is a reason for it. Old school friendly workers, delicious country style breakfast, and amazing BBQ. Put some south in ya mouth!

Wonderful place. Brings back childhood memories, old fashioned slow cooked Smoky flavor. Met the owner, and original founder, still there today! Please give them a try, you won't be disappointed.

Food was fairly good. My 1st time visiting OHH after reviewing photos and reviews. I went in on a stormy afternoon to get some take out. If you are okay with or can look past the cashier having a foul attitude, you may enjoy this traditional BBQ spot. Every other employee I observed was having fun and pleasantly interacting with customers & each other.Food was easily a 4 to 4.5 stars... service was -1 to -2.

We came here on Easter and it was really great! I could tell the staff was tired from getting slammed all day, but they were great too. I recommend the ribs--they were falling off the bone good.

Great BBQ and wonderful service. It has been several years since my last visit, but the food was just as good as I recalled. A very pleasant dining experience.

All your BBQ favorites! Brunswick stew, chopped pork sandwiches or plates, chopped beef brisket sandwiches or plates, ribs, smoked turkey, home-made sides, cobbler, banana pudding and the best sweet ice tea. They even have hot dogs and a fantastic hamburger if you have someone in your group who doesn't want BBQ. Plus breakfast served until 2pm. You can't go wrong here!

One of my favorite bbq places to go. The staff is warm, friendly, personable and well trained. Also, they did a wonderful job dealing with the plague. You know the did is good when they have had the same kitchen staff for 40 yrs. You can't beat experience.

We waited almost 35 minutes for our food. Mine was luke warm. The green beans were nice and hot but the grilled chicken and mashed potatoes was luke warm. My husband ordered #2 with added French fries. When the food came he didn't get his French fries. He asked the waitress and she said sorry but we are out of fries. He had to ask about the fries cause she didn't mention that they were out. The waitress never came by to update us about our order taking so long. So I will not eat there again. The food is over priced and wasn't hot when served.

Been coming here for several years now, always great food and service. Had the ribeye steak for the first time today, definitely good, I think I've had everything on the menu at some time in the past. The stew is awesome as is the salad.

Workers serving food with NO gloves on, waitress had dirty fingernails. Flies everywhere. Won't be going back!

One of the last good restaurants still around from my childhood. Local popular restaurant, going through some construction around it. Well worth going to.
